VIBRATIONAL ANALYSIS OF SUBMERGED CYLINDRICAL SHELLS BASED ON ELASTIC FOUNDATIONS

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study a vibration analysis was performed of an isotropic cylindrical shell submerged in fluid, resting on Winkler and Pasternak elastic foundations for simply supported boundary condition. Love’s thin theory exploited strain- curvature- displacement relationship. Shell problem solved by using wave propagation approach. Influence fluid as well were studied the natural frequencies shells. Results validated comparing with existing results literature.

Free Vibration Analysis of Bidirectional Functionally Graded Conical/Cylindrical Shells and Annular Plates on Nonlinear Elastic Foundations, Based on a Unified Differential Transform Analytical Formulation

In the present research, a unified formulation for free vibration analysis of the bidirectional functionally graded conical and cylindrical shells and annular plates on elastic foundations is developed. To cover more individual cases and optimally tailored material properties, the material properties are assumed to vary in both the meridian/radial and transverse directions. The shell/plate is a...

Wave Propagation Approach to Fluid Filled Submerged Visco-Elastic Finite Cylindrical Shells

Multi-layer orthotropic finite cylindrical shells with a viscoelastic core in contact with fluids are gaining increasing importance in engineering. Vibrational control of these structures is essential at higher modes. In this study, an extended version of the wave propagation approach using first-order shear deformation theory of shell motion is employed to examine the free vibration of damped ...

Indentation of ellipsoidal and cylindrical elastic shells.

Thin shells are found in nature at scales ranging from viruses to hens' eggs; the stiffness of such shells is essential for their function. We present the results of numerical simulations and theoretical analyses for the indentation of ellipsoidal and cylindrical elastic shells, considering both pressurized and unpressurized shells. We provide a theoretical foundation for the experimental findi...

Non-Linear Analysis of Asymmetrical Eccentrically Stiffened FGM Cylindrical Shells with Non-Linear Elastic Foundation

In this paper, semi-analytical method for asymmetrical eccentrically stiffened FGM cylindrical shells under external pressure and surrounded by a linear and non-linear elastic foundation is presented. The proposed linear model is based on two parameter elastic foundation Winkler and Pasternak. According to the von Karman nonlinear equations and the classical plate theory of shells, strain-displ...

Torsional Stability of Cylindrical Shells with Functionally Graded Middle Layer on the Winkler Elastic Foundation

In this study, the torsional stability analysis is presented for thin cylindrical with the functionally graded (FG) middle layer resting on the Winker elastic foundation. The mechanical properties of functionally graded material (FGM) are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law and exponential distributions in terms of volume fractions of the constituents...
